PUBLISHED BY THE SENIOR CLASS CATHOLIC CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN 1957 FOREWORD . . HERE WE GROW . . . For four years we have worked, prayed, and played together under the guidance of experts in the fields of education and Christian social living. Our theme has great meaning, for as the school has progressed, we too have grown older, and we hope, wiser. Opportunities for spiritual, scholastic and extra-curricular activi- ties have come to us. We are now prepared to seek new horizons and help to build our community. We came to Catholic Central with ideas and we are leaving with ideals which we hope to fulfill. In this volume of our Yearbook we present in word and picture the treasured memories of the work, the pleasures, and the life of the students here at Catholic Central. Here we have acquired a full realiz- ation of the part Divine Providence plays in our lives. Our Senior class has built a tradition which is now history. This class of 1957, C.C.'s first four-year class, accepts with gratitude its preparation for a forward-moving world of great significance. We hope that in future years, graduates will be as proud as we are to say, l graduated from Greater Muskegon Catholic Central. - Coralee Donlevy 'l 9 5 3 :I 9 5 7 auon new ll e ily nxt 0117 14111 LIKIQIIIIUIIIQ' clam flcflzmte ffm 1937 CRUSADPR lo thou Ulm fnlzcrl lmzkc om jams at Gnfzlcz AIIIMQQQOII Cafbolzc Ccutml High School Our Blshop Tha Most Runrund Allan Babcock Our Prmupal Rcwrend LOUIS B LaPres Gur P.15tor5 Our Pfucnts CJLII rlguhnm Thc Sghool Bofud Ihg Ilolx I IITIIIS Assuu mon The Alumm Thu Student Body Oux Irmnds I l xb - ,, . They realize if they would continue this growth, they must walk His way of love and sacrifice. QX Some memories are vibrant and compelling they remain forever. Such are the effects -- thoughts of the three day Retreat conducted by the Redemptorist Fathers at Catholic Central. Above, Father John McPhee CSSR gust finished a Conference after Mass to the Seniors and Juniors. Father never referred to them as teen agers so their thoughts were serious and forward looking. if Father LaPres, principal, informs Father Edward Nugent, C.S.S.R., of the fine impression his retreat made on the freshmen and sophomores. Naturally both priests, who are deeply interested in the spiritual advancement of youth, are grateful and relaxed. Advent opens with the Homeroom representatives assembling with their Advent Wreaths which are blessed by Father LaPres. T Guidance is offered to every student in C.C. school, collectively and individually, if desired, by Rev. Edward Chmielewski, instructor. Receiving assistance in clear thinking about their 'future are Juanita Plichta and Margaret Hartman. To some of us it has been a long time and a hard struggle, but to others it seems only a short time ago that we entered the doors for the first time to begin our years at Catholic Central. With the busy days of this school year filled with studies and activities and now nearing its completion we are making plans for the future Some of us wall continue our education in the field of our choice, whereas others will be looking for lobs here In our own hometown Our success in the future now depends upon how well we have taken the knowledge which has been given us so freely On behalf of the Senior Class l would like to thank our parents for their generosity in providing us with this fine school and also Father LaPres our principal and the faculty who have provided us with the educational and spiritual guidance necessary to make this day possible ln closing may l say that we will continue to have a prayer in our hearts for the success of Catholic Central In the comma years HELEN MARTIN SUE BELL BILL GOGGIN Vice president Secretory Treasurer I 1 I I I J .
