Achievement, the keynote of three brief years in Greater Muskegon Catholic Central history, has made manifest to the people of Muske- gon and surrounding communities the Widening Horizons of spiritual, scholastic, and social advantages in our school. With grateful confidence we, the Class of 1956, go forward to ioin the valiant ranks of those who serve God, country, and commun- ity. With ideals solidly founded on Catholic Central's teaching of the principles of Christian social living, we shall enter vocational fields in and beyond today's horizons. The perspective broadens -- the challenge beckons - and having prepared ourselves to fully utilize the religious, intellectual, and social opportunities of today's world, we go forth to meet the challenge of Widening Horizons. - Patricia Abraham t 2 il 1 5 g ACC GREATER MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL BY THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN 3 THE MOST REVEREND ALLEN J. You have shown a path and given an example to guide us in the final phase of our iourney through high school. Through your zeal in extra-curricular fields, you have exemplified the principle of combining work with fun. We have benefited from your leadership in the Sodality Union, the Teen- age Traffic Safety meetings, the lively pep assemblies, and the successful Fish Fry. May your tomorrow's world, dear Sen- iors, be as happy and blessed as we, the Juniors, wish it to be. To each Graduate we say, God bless you! 35 -ij, I. . . if Y J. ALLEN R. BELROSE R. All Sophomores are united with one aim in mind - to make the class of 1958 the out- standing class for years to come. We underclassmen broke into athletic prominence by plac- ing many boys on the varsity teams. Although still young, we gained much experience which will make us the team to beat in the next two years. ' We Sophomores are spiritually-minded, too. We are'trying to realize the importance of a Christian training. Daily Mass has found many Sophomore students there. BROADWAY TO THE CLASS OF '56 Meet Mr. Thomas Paquin, Assistant Pur- chasing Agent of Sealed Power, shown here talking to joseph Jensen, Catholic Central Honor Student. He, like you, graduated from the Catholic High School system. However, he was a member of the gradu- ating class of St. jean's in 1941. The story of his successful career with this company is a story from which you can draw inspir- ation and guidance, for his problems fol- lowing graduation were not unlike those which currently confront you. In the near future you must make some important decisions about your future, just as Mr. Paquin did some years ago. No matter which path you may chart for your life, we invite you to consider Sealed Power as offering opportunities to alert young men and women. salad colporation Leading Manufacturers of Engine Parts 'I Plants in Muskegon Heights and St. Johns, Michigan A Rochester, Indiana and Stratford, Ontario Compliments of MAPLE LAN ES Bowling Center TOT 8. EA IDER HORIZONS We have reached the summit of a hill. Before us is the broad horizon -- wider now than ever before in our lives. Our school has made outstanding progress in its three years. We hope we have developed accordingly. Two classes have completed their courses here and become fine Catholic citizens of the world. Under the leadership of our principal, Reverend Louis LaPres, Catholic Central has become known and respected. It is a center for Muskegon Catholic Youth. Its clubs and activities are increasing and broadening the school as well as its students. lf-12 As we also graduate, Muskegon Catholic Central's horizons become wider. Out of our ranks and our successors', great scientists, teachers, doctors, engineers - leaders in all walks of life - may be its future alumni. Soon we leave this memorable high school and face the widening horizon. We leave, with a double world outlook -- happiness in this world and in the next.
