Catholic Central became a reality September 8, 1953, when approximately eightvhundred stu- dents entered its doors. Bishop Haas died one month before school opened, but his great objective, For Our Young People, a Catholic Education, will continue and flourish for generations to come - a lasting memorial to his untiring zeal. CORN ERSTONE - The Rt., Rev. Msgr. Raymond Baker, Vicar General of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, represented Bishop Haas in laying the cornerstone April 2, 1952. Assist- ing are Rt. Rev. Msgr. William E. Fraser, Rev. Albert Kehren, executive secretary of the building project of Catholic Central, and Mr. Charles Bebeau, construc- tion superintendent. I I I I I
