hat is high school? What is this place we call Catholic High? More than bricks and cement, more than a place of learning. even more than a group of students and adults united by a common goal, a cer- tain spirit, amplified by each student and his con- A unique aura Sur- rounds the schools a magnetic force emitted by members of the school. spirit becomes a phase of life never forgotten. A unique aura surrounds the schools a magnetic force emitted by all inter- actions between members of the school develops. A certain qual- i t y t h a t makes it spe- cial- a gusto for success and fellow- ship - ties it in tribution to the school, marks it as dif- ferent. Truly understood only by those who exper- ience it, this Catholic High together. I notice it in the pep rallies. Every- body's enthusiastic, and it's wild. lt's completely dif- ferent from the school I l ',,,. , is J If went to before, where stu- dents were taught to be seen and not heard, ob- served Steve Satterfield. This would not be possi- ble without the mysterious essence surrounding the school. Tommy Tanner per- haps best ties it all up with his personal interpretion of the unusual sentiments and feelings: I have gone to this school for four years. and l still cannot quite ex- plain the Catholic High spir- it. All I know is that when- ever l am with other stu- dents, I am proud to display what this place really stands for. Vroooommml Senior Walker La- siter reverts to childhood for a skit during a pep rally. ,Take it off! Matt Hartnedy put on ,an unusual strip act during his 'election speech. The soon-to-be president wanted to show that un- derneath he was just like anyone else. Intro

Senior Bill Glenn, the ideal athletic supporter, showed his en- thusiasm for the football team by making his car as colorful as possible. Don't look down. Strutting their showy shorts during the brief dress codere- prieval. Keith Massery, John Monroe. and Robbie Loket, recount their adven- tures of theisummer.

Strutting their stuff. The col- or guard prepares to pre- sent the colors before a football game. Cadets Peter Braunfisch, William Clark, Mark Koch. and Todd Hard- berger maintain ROTC dis- cipline. Giving it their all. Pre-game pep rallies display vibrant school enthusiasm. Detliff Schneider, Jeff Gash. and Tommy Tanner were among these avid celebra- tors. Intro Tooting their horns. Mark Fran- cis and Matt McAvoy show their spirit for the band through their dedicated ef- forts. A moment of reverence, Mass in the chapel is a privilege enjoyed by seniors several times during the year. The beauty of the chapel makes the mass a special religious event for everyone.
