Student Rul The Governing Body Of Catholic igh School elections offer the students a chance to choose the candidate they feel will best represent their school. The I985-86 elections did just that. A group of six candi- dates, former Boy's State mem- bers, ran for the coveted office of president. They were Matt Hartnedy, Jamie Mago, Chris Setliff, Jay VanDover, Andy Ward, and Kyle White. Matt Hartnedy won the elec- tion after his crowd-raising or- dinary student campaign speech. Jay VanDover was elect- ed to Vice President, after being Sophomore and Junior class Presidents, and Andy Ward be- came Secretary-Treasurer. The Officers have a wide vari- ety of responsibility around the High school. They make the morning announcements, organize intra- murals, discuss students' prob- lems and concerns with Father Tribou, and help choose people to make committees. Once elected, they make their presence known by talking with students and go- ing to school sponsored activi- ties. Homeroom representatives also hold a maior role in repre- senting students. They are elect- ed by their peers in each home- room to lead the class. Such things as choosing intramural basketball and tug-of-war teams, carrying absentee slips to the of- fice, and collecting money for different proiects are a few of their jobs. What a guy! Matt Hartnedy sports hi formal, everyday appearance. '+ ill, ii . 5-.N Nice Job. Junior homeroom rep., Robert Good day from K desk Boswell takes down the absentee slip. the anchor nouncements. CHS.
