Stars Lure Students to a Moonlight Masquerade The l984 Homecoming Dance was the first social event of the year. With the help of Miss Maxwell, the Homecoming committee was confident that the autumn weather would create a Moonlight Mas- querade for every couple on September 22. The dance took place on Saturday night, but the celebration began on Friday even- ing at the Erie Veterans Memorial Stadi- um. Before an estatic crowd, the Ramblers trounced a hapless Buffalo Canisius team 55-O. During halftime the Master of Cere- ,,.w x '.:95' hi, 1,1 61 monies, Chris Reim, introduced the candi- dates vying for the title of Homecoming Queen. The candidates from St. Benedict's were Ann Constantino, escorted by Jerry Gaeta. and Chrissie Thorwart, accompa- nied by Jeff Strasser. Villa Maria was re- presented by Patti Krahe. escorted by Da- vid Pysh, and by the I984 Homecoming Queen. Kim Scozzie, accompanied by Chris Hughes. The excitement of the previous night did not satisfy the I7O couples. costumed in their best outfits, that gathered in the appropriately disguised gym. With the fa- cility adorned with ornaments resembling the moon and stars, the mood was set for a Moonlight Masquerade. Although the dance got off to a slow start, by the end of the night everyone was dancing to the sounds of ATV. With the announcement of the Homecoming Queen came an unex- pected shower of balloons . . .An exciting conclusion to a great weekend! Kenneth Ulmer Photo Essay l'
