p And Down Season Mars Rambler Record The '77-'78 edition of the Rambler Football team suffered another disappointing season, posting a lowly 3-6 record. Despite the losing record, the Ramblers showed determination and skill in defeating Tech, Bradford, and Academy. Standouts for the Ramblers were All-metro players Dave Curtis, Chris Nowak, Tim Sisinni, Ron Potocki, and Mike Feldman. Rounding out the field were Art Desin, Mark Damico, Dave Ridge, Mike Tighe, Larry Serafin, and Dave Rettger, all playing steady ball throughout the season for the Orange and Black. Next year's edition of the Prep team will see changes following the resignation of head coach Dave Wenrick after three years at the helm. The new Rambler mentor will have returning juniors Ron Luszcak, Andy Penna, Bill Dietz, Pete lntrieri, Mike May, Gary Metzgar, and john Dipre to provide the backbone for what promises to be an exciting season. Harriers End Quest With 43 Straight Si 11,- fi'--.di as 1978 graduating seniors Under the leadership of senior captain lim Yount, the Cross Country team completed its most successful season, compiling a record of 16-0 and, in the process, extended its string of dual meet victories to 43-O! Adding to the laurels of their third straight City Series, Metro League, Section One, and District-10 titles, the rambling Ramblers also captured the McDowell Invitational as well as the prestigious Pittsburgh Tri-State Invitational Championship to become the first team of Prep harriers ever to win a major invitational title. With the loss of only three seniors the prospect of an equally talented team appears bright, as returning lettermen Freddie Heintz, Tom Held, Bill Phillips, Marv Wadlington, and Mike Forish seem sure to capture another Triple Crown.
