The club has travelled some 1600 miles including a 900 mile trip to upper New York's Thousand Islands and Adirondack Mountains. Since the opening of the school year, the club has made numerous short excursions on Saturdays including Panama Rocks, New Yorkg Cudgeonville Covered Bridge, Fairview: Conneaut, Ohio: Findley Lake, New Yorkg and a traditional jaunt around the Peninsula. These places may seem quite distant for travel by bike, but according to club members they are just warm- up exercises. ational Merit Students -..... , 1 - - t Ixw slumlvnts, Mark l3ul11'c:1' amd Phll lllrsvh, alrhisxtcl L . , . . , . - . . lln- status ul twlng Nutmuul IXIt21'1t'm2m1-lima Q Q , smull Illlllltlltl' lm' Prup, thu t1l?fIllIN? was clue to tho I'illSlUg.I ul -h ti xlaumltmls in sczuring thee Merril lust. From the cover to the last page a new look has taken over. Concentration around lay-out designs. This resulted in a centered very professional, magazine appearance. The enor- mous success of the Patron Drive allowed for the senior section to he in color. Because of this, fewer special effects on the black-and-white pictures were added-a cluttered, yearbook was not desired. The most noticable result in re-vamping the year- hook was doing away with the standard content divisions. By studying the cover, the seasonal theme and seasonal divisions of the hook can he understood. In the main hody of the hook, each section is in- troduced hy its own table of contents with an emphasized repitition of the cover design producing hoth consistency and unity. The hook cannot he looked at superficially. It will take time to comprehend the new format. Once un- derstood, though, realization of the books uni- queness and success will take place. Members of the club met at the rifle range, in the incloor track, each Saturday morning. To insure safety of all, members wear a heavy canvas jacket while shooting. Also, ear pads are worn to muffle the noise. Most competition is intra-club, with one trophy shoot each season. French Club Under the aegis of Sister Regina Marie and Mr. Ieff Mace, the French Club was quite active throughout the year. Video tapes, and films as well as guest speakers were utilized at meetings to acquaint the members with the history, culture and peoples of France. ttlttiu P' P . aa Q! After all of these headaches, the sup- posed thrill of working on the yearbook does not exist. But, the pride does-the pride of knowing that it was our efforts that went into publishing this book. Many people contributed in making the 1975 Literuloe a reality. There was, of course, the main core of the staff-Bob, Bill, Ron, Ken, jeff, and myself-who combined various talents successfully to create this yearbook. Material was given to us in the form of pictures by joe, Keith and the other photographers. Their work in taking, developing, and printing photos was irreplaceable. The administration must also be thanked. They let us ex- pound on our innovations and aided us in the Patron Drive. Above all, Mr. Allison must be congratulated. He advised us best, helped us most and put up with our zaniness throughout the school year. The yearbook is completed. It is different. It is about you and for you. john Taormina WALSWORTII 176 Marcehne, Mo., L .S.A. .-Q., 'A g 5 O 4 0
