E unity with the world ,X The movement for a better world includes the whole world, and BROTHER BERNARD JANSEN, S.M., Latin's former physics teacher, has generously volunteered to work in one of its farthest corners. Following the words of Christ, Go forth and teach all nations, Brother has taken up his mission at St. Patrick's College, Asaba, Nigeria. While at Latin, Brother Jansen played a major role in the promotion of science in the diocese, he was the first president of the Diocesan Science Teachers' Association and established the annual John Carroll Science Fair. One of Brother Jansen's foremost projects was organizing the book store into an efficient operation, his expert photographic know-hovv figured greatly in the publication of the Latineer and Purple and Gold. Latin is certainly proud to have one of its former teachers so actively engaged in carrying this movement for a better world to the missions of Africa.

WILLIAM TER- NANSKY, vvho has taught more Latin men than any other member of the faculty. ln October, l933, he began teaching German and sophomore English, and has since taught nearly all the humanities courses. With the growing importance ot inter- national happenings, it is imperative to the movement for a better world that students be properly instructed in current events, problems of democracy, and civics. Mr. Ternansky's knowledge ot these subiects has enabled many Latin graduates to succeed in political careers, and become outstanding community leaders. Among his many duties, Nlr. Ternansky serves as counselor on colleges, supplying students with bulletins, applications, and other necessary information tor higher edu- cation. Certainly some ot the credit for Latin's high scholastic standing goes to him for helping students choose colleges best suited to their needs and abilities. To Mr. William Ternansky, on his twenty-fifth anniversary at Cathedral Latin, we, the senior class ot 1958, express our utmost thanks. rn X-. tri..
