unity with God a quarter of a century of immeasurable faith Dear Graduates of 1958: The Movement for a Better World which you have selected as the theme for your edition of the Purple and Gold is not only appropriate, but let us say it is the one thing necessary for happiness here and hereafter. Every rational being seeks happiness as the obiective of his human acts, and in this sense we mention firstly human happiness. Secondly, per- fect happiness, the ultimate end, is not to be found in any created thing, but only in God, who is Himself the supreme and infinite good. The Movement for a Better World does not seek to be a new organization in the Church, but rather to be a spirit, a warmer climate, a more intense rhythm for the re-intensification of Christian life, through Charity to Unity. In order to arrive at this renewal of the spirit in a warmer climate, it is necessary to have each person start his own interior revolution and so preach to himself that he must become a better man. lt is impossible to think of influencing others for a better world with bad persons. Therefore, the individual in this movement must live and act in a climate of habitual grace. The axis of the movement then consists in having all men live in the state of grace, this will result in that fraternal charity which will bring unity to all children of the same heavenly Father. May our Blessed Lady ever guide you and keep you especially in this Centenary Year of the proclama- tion of her Immaculate Conception. Ever sincerely in J.!Vl.J., V. Rev. Thomas H.
