Dear Seniors: You have selected the timely the-me of trrulilion for your edition of the Purple and Cold. Congratulations! While it is well for you to dwell upon the glories of the past - after Forty Years at Cathedral Latin School - and One Hundred Years of the Marianists in Cleveland - you must meet the challenge of years after graduation. Your theme for the future is given to you by our saintly Holy Father, Pope Pius XII, namely a s'Movement for a Better Worltl. This theme has been developed for nearly twenty years under two distinct titles which run parallel to the Pontiff's Movement. The first title was developed by the N.C.E.A., fNational Catholic Education Associa- tionl, as Better Men for Better Timesf' The second has been chosen as the theme of the N.C.E.A. Convention of 1956, '6Better Schools for Better-Timesff Our Catholic Schools have been stressing the theme of better men and will now stress better schools in conjunction with the Pope's Movement for a Better World. You have stated that the Marianist Fathers and Brothers have ignited your desire for leadership, that they have educated you as whole persons, so that now you are ready to meet the challenge. The challenge is of course, for you to help make a Better World. The formula for making a better world was given emphatically by the Popes of the past century through the medium of Catholic Action.
