The reference work, the typing of speeches, the intraeschool debates, and the de- bates with other schools have been a wonderful experience. Looking over some of their material we find Martha Winkels, Doris Koscianski, Joann Von- drasek, and Mary Glenzinski. Ploy ond Componionship One event always looked forward to by most Cathedral students is the Cotter Homecoming in which we girls paly a most important part. Here we find our Queen, Rita Skemp, and King Wayne Kulas of Cotter, showered with confetti during the Homecoming parade. Prayer . . . there was her ardent longf ing to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. . . This ardent longing is al- so found in the girls at Cathe- dral. Daily communicants are not scarce. We shall always remember particularly the l-irst Firday ot each month when we prayed together and then received Our Blessed Lord into our hearts. Saint Maria Goretti provides for us a beau- tiful example of the love we should have tor Holy Come munion, for never was Jesus more welcome in a human heart than in hers. Here we see some of the girls leaving the Church after a First Fri- day Mass. X L S X 5 5.-s ffqnf lwlwy Y .qua Q. Judith Kryzer St. John's Parish Loyalty is the foundation of her friendship. X A .sc Work Oxygen, hydrogen, ni- trogen, which will it be? The girls have quite a time find- ing out the difference bea tween ide , ite , and ate, Barbara Cisewski, Judith Kryzer, Martha Winkels, and Eleanor Cysewski seem to be in the process of dis- coving a new element. Work A clicking of keys can usually be heard issuing from the typing room. The secretarial field should find some excellent newcomers among the girls who are re- ceiving their training here at Cathedral. Donna Hahn, Danuta Staron, Rosetta Ramczyk, Patricia Klink, and Mildred Schultz are getting in a little practice. Work Pin, baste, sew, These familiar words can always be heard in the sewing room from our future homemak- ers, Pictured in this sewing circle are Shirley Rietz, Joan Peplinski, Audrey Ten! tis, and Joan Degnan worka ing on their garments. Marlene Liebe Cathedral, Sacred Heart Parish She is pure and sweet as well as debonairf' Rosetta Ramczyk St. Casimir's Parish The kind of girl you like to know better. 'r PWqWK 'fa to Ploy Which movie shall we see tonight? A check with the Legion of Decency list here at Cathedral will simplify matters. Even in our play, guidance is necessary. Rosetta Ramczyk, Jane Gernes, and Patricia Schu- macher must be planning to see a movie. Work Everyone's favorite class... study period. It seems that school and study are two things that just can's be se- parated. Patricia Klink, Da- nuta Staron, Barbara Cisew- ski, Marie Lemieux, and Joan Degnan seem to be quite absorbed. Componionship All work and no play makes Mary a dull girl. From the wealth of fun that was had at our Fun Fest it will probably be a long time be- fore any of our girls become dull , Held for the purpose of raising money for the bapistry of our new Cathe- dral, it was one of those occasions about which can be written, a good time was had by all. T lr l 5 fl l Sophomores .......... ..... There was the sacrifice she made in her difficult daily work... Half of our high school days are almost finished. During these first two years we have had to do many things that we found difficult. However, we are looking forward to our last two years regardless of how many sacrifices they will entail, for we know that with the help of our patroness, St. Maria Goretti, we shall be successful. o V A- S. sg 9 311i-v '.0g. The smiling faces of Mary Pel- lowski, Mary Alb el, Mary Stewart, Rose Ann Maze, Ann Weir, Mary Lettner seem to indicate that their findings were very satisfactory. Mary Stewart, our winner, placed second in the city con- test and in the district. This line has dwindled down to four girls-Barbara Kulas, Joan Herrick, Joan Sikorski, and Lois Repinski. Just about this time Cecilia Jaszewski quite likely has a very tired arm. M. Roemer G. We see fin her lifej ci tender ond docile love which was ot the some time procticol ond obedient... Wishing to pattern our lives on that of our patroness, St. Maria Goretti, we freshmen have tried to imitate those virtues which she best exemplified. Among those are two of the greatest which every girl desires to possess-charity and obedience. At times the practice of these may have seemed difficult, but realizing that even in the smallest command reigned the 'Voice of God, these difficulties were always overcome. Through their development at Cathedral, our lives were brought closer to Christ, His Mother and our model, St. Maria Goretti. N'Dx fl VW 1 1 l . In order to fur- ther Catholic literature, a campaign to raise money for subscriptions to Catholic mag- azines, which will be placed in various places, is carried on during Catholic Press Month. Representing the freshman class, who were the first to reach their goal, are Catherine Roemer, Jo a n Drazkowski, Margaret Ramsden, and Carol Bambenek.
