MXN if K .loan Sarokota 13013 and Doris O'Connor 16083 played the romantic leads of Fredrick and Mabel in the Glee Club play, The Pirates of Penzance. The affectionate daughters, played by Adelane Goddard 14063, Margaret Brick 14013 and Rosanne Keeley 16033 pose about their conscientious father, Major Stanley Jane Dougher 16103. The seniors, returning to their dressing rooms after the final performance of the Glee Club play The Pirates of Penzance, a light musical comedy by Gilbert and Sullivan, feel in their hearts the pangs of loneliness. Such an emotion prevails because this is the last time that they will experience the soft lights upon their faces and the Cathedral stage beneath their feet or the joy of trying on costumes and putting on makeup. Their feelings are shared by the senior members of the orchestra, who have played the musical background for every performance, under the expert direction of Pro- fessor Heinroth. All the members will remember the tireless efforts of Sister Mary Clement and Sister Ver- onica Maria, and the colorful productions that their work made possible, also the happy years the club en- joyed at C. During Catholic Education Week our clclaatc mcrnlacrs, Ann Novellino 15101, Alice Courtney 1603, Rita Toth 16031, lmily Kay 15101 and Kay MnGowan 15101 spoke to the assembly on notcrl Catholics who havv wt lorth shining examples of faith. Startled by the P.A. system's announcement of a surprise assembly for classes 601 to 508, the minds of the student body begin to churn and feminine curiosity is aroused. Each girl won- ders what the assembly will be about. Will it be one of Father Wolff's friendly and enlighten- ing instructions, a visit from Father Bernier S.S,S., organizer and head of the C.Y.A. Holy Hour. an interesting talk by Father Joseph Hamilton, moderator of Our Lady's Sodality, a rehearsal for graduation, a Shakepearean play, a movie or demonstration by General Motors or The Bell Telephone System, or a message from Sister Aloysia, herself? Even our annual art exhibit in the auditorium, which usually brings smiles of appreciation, today does not seem to ease that certain nervousness which is evident throughout the entire auditorium as the girls wait for the beginning of the assembly, Finally, the assemblage stands to sing the National Anthem and to greet the rouser of their curiosity. Who is it? Maureen Kelly 16011, San- dra Votor 16031 and Deb- orah Sweeney 16051 seem to be intrigued and ex- cited by their new senior rings. 19
