HJ A nice aspect of French is its extra-curricular activities, Mary Trank, Theresa Muel- ler, and Mary O'Carroll are discussing the motion icture Monsieur Vincent for the class. The girls of 601 in collaboration with the French Club enjoyed the pleas- ures of a gala Valentine party, an anticipated Mardi Gras. Delectable gdibles and dancing completed the un. of other climes The most inexpensive and profitable way to visit France is by studying French. Through French literature we have learned to appreciate and understand the French people more thor- oughly. XV e have become more tolerant of their ideas and customs. Our appreciation of music was further enriched by the learning of songs and other musical compositions. Movies in French have only served to increase our liking for this subject. These are our extra-curricular activities which have made this course far more than educational. They have made it interest- ing, Cultural. and relaxing and have served to transport us to the land of saints and artists. Under the able guidance of Sister Marita Cer- trude we have come a long way since our sec- ond year. Y 5 'ET . .1 3 , . I V' ' 'l 'l 'll Q5 . Q9 The French Club, went aboard the Ile de France, a veritable Hoating palace, they found the upaqllebozltn to be the essence of French grace and customs. The club officers-Julia Caruso, presi- dent, Rose Marie Panzarello, vice- president, and Dorothy Bruni,secretary, display the coiffe and the sabots worn by the young girls of Normandy.
