74 For the ninth consecutive year, Coach Paul Whitlock guided his runners to a winning season. His record of 77 straight dual-meet victories stretched to 79 until Chicopee Comp snapped the winning streak. Varsity runners won the next four meets, including a shutout of Classical by taking the first eight places in that meet. Both Frosh and JV went undefeated for the year. JV took the first ten places in the City Meet. Led by co-captains Mike Mahoney and Matt Wolff, the Varsity squad captured first place in both City and WMass Championship meets. High placing in the WMass race by Matt Wolff and Jack Brennan brought post-season honors to them, with positions on the WMass All-Star team. 10
