26 New Courses Enhance English Department’s Outlook Inter-disciplinary humanities was a new feature in the English Department. Offered to seniors and juniors, the course embodied studies in English, Theology, and History. Operating on a grant from the National Humanities Fund, the class was taught by Mr. William McBride, Mrs. Jeanette Paul and Sr. Veronica Brown. Three credits were given for the course which covered three class periods. Under the direction of Mrs. Shirley Pratt and Sr. Ann Lynch, the department offered a diversity of course electives which allowed each student to pursue his own interests. Freshmen were offered a new Study Skills program which was of great value to them in forming good study habits. Co-curricular activities included sophomores attending a Stage West production of Marcus Brutus to supplement their study of Julius Casear.
