ae i ; ay + | Students Utilize Talents In Forensic League The appeal of the CHS Speech Team lies in its wide range of categories. The addition of the Multiple Reading Category to the list of competitive fields added to the dimensions of oral expression. This category consists of five to eight members who dramatize a selection through facial expressions and words, without props or motions. This year’s team was successful in the Dioces an Competition. The 21 members who made it to the finals all waxed triumphant with Gold Medals. oe More opportunities for competition were available to the members with added meets at Boston. Unification of the team came from the direction of Ms. Barbara Wrega and the team’s officers, who for the first time played a role in the planning of competitions. With the experience of Mark Chartier and Julie Koeniger the CHS Debating Team continued its excellent performance. One of the earliest successes of the team was a disputed second place finish in Burlington, Vermont. This year’s National Debate Topic: “Resolved: That the U.S. government should significantly change the method of election of the Vice-President,” proved interesting and pertinent. Extensive preparation for this topic necessitated researching the election process, the purpose of the electoral college, campaign laws, and the requirements for voting. Mr. William McBride, moderator of the team, was pleased with its performance and the team’s placement in National Finals at Philadelphia. 22

100 The Family There once lived a child. She was avery ordinary child, except for the fact that she had thirty-six parents. These people worried a great deal about her, for she was conceived and born with much anxiety and great pain. What’s more, she was born very slowly, one piece ata time. As you can imagine, this was very upsetting. But the thirty-six parents combined their best efforts to tie their child together and transform her into avibrant, happy being. And when when it was done, the thirty-six parents saw that their child was beautiful, and they were very happy. And they named her PANTHERPIX’75.
