Girls’ Softball It was a year of rebuilding for the girls’ softball team whose members worked hard all year to mold themselves into a cohesive unit. Finishing its 2nd year of existence, the team rounded out their season with a 10-4 record. This area standing enabled them to participate in the Western Mass. tournament. Winning their Ist game in tournament play over West Side, by ascore of 18 to 7, they advanced to play Southwick, the eventual Western Mass. champs. Although Cathedral was defeated by a frustrating 11-10 score, the team members knew “Tt’s not whether you win orloose... ” “Players had much in their favor, the most important being spirit, pride, and unity.” Donna Crum 490)
