Boys’ Swimming Practicing six months a year with two practices per day, the boys swim team finished with 13 victories and 2 defeats. The team practiced daily in the early morning hour of 5:30, and later in the afternoon at 4:00. Their greatest victory was over last year’s state finalist, Seekonk, with a score of 92 to 80, the victory due to Cathedral’s out- standing depth. Under the direction of Coach Charlie Casserly, Mrs. Angela “‘Mac”’ McLaughlin and Mr. Bruce Markiewicz, the team developed strong swimmers. As Coach Casserly said, “This is Cathedral’s best team ever.” Headed by Seniors Maury and Mike Cabral and Junior John Vivier, the team displayed vitality and agility. Leading divers, Kevin Mahan and Vin Walsh, demonstrated co-ordination and gracefullness.
