He had 37 saves in the crucial Classical game : which saw the stickmen 4 check the Bulldogs, 3-1. Both Hough and Ligenza were named player of-the-week by the Republican, with Glenn earning the honor on two successive weeks. Varsity newcomers Charley Landry and John Kenney combined with vets Joe Milbier, Paul Stelzer, and Joe Sibilia to form a formidable second line which took some pressure off the first. Stelzer and Milbier, along with Wischerth, Hough, and Ligenza who accumulated thirteen letters in their varsity careers, will be lost through graduation. The reliable benchmen, however, cast a solid base for the team. As Coach Toney Odierna summed it up, “ Lenjoyed every minute of association with the kids. No coach could ask for a better bunch of players.” 84
