Practical Arts Night inspires interest Skills aquired through the school year were exhibited by the students on Practical Arts Night. Cooking classes featured an informative display of table settings and a colorful array of foods. The decorative cakes were given to lucky visitors in a special drawing. ‘Fashion for the Seasons was the theme for the fashion show in which each girl modeled her own creation. Exhibits from the mechanical drawing department included a wide range of designs, constructions, and models, with the theme “Form Follows Function.” The radio club gave instructions in the operation of ham radios and made several contacts. Enthusiastic students display talents in Fine Arts Show A Fine Arts show was presented by the Art Department. Artists displayed their talents in exhibits ranging from line design to self portraits and oil paintings. Demonstrations were offered in water color, block printing and working on a potter s wheel. Various types of sculptures and ceramics were also exhibited. Profits made through the sale of creative work made it possible to award two scholarships to students planning to continue studies in art. 1 Busily working at his easel, Gennaro lannac- cone demonstrates the art of water coloring. 2 Artist Jeanne Souvigney mounts her abstract model for display. 3 Mounting her painting on the easel, Marthe Hess prepares to display her project.
