Phys Ed students choose from new seasonal electives Cathedral's physical education program adequately supplemented students academic education again this vear. A program of electives, which rotated seasonally, was successfully inaugurated. The students were free to choose from a variety of offerings. Possible selections in the boys program ranged from football and softball to weight training. Golf instruction was added to the curriculum this year, complementing the usual activities. The ever-expanding girls program offered for the first time tennis, track and field and when weather permitted, tobogganing. Highlighting the program were co-educational square dancing and volleyball. By instituting this program the Phys Ed department enabled the individual to pursue his athletic interests.

Driver Education program regains success at Cathedral The driver education program reinstated at Cathedral 4 in the 71-'72 school year has, during its two years, found its place in the CHS curriculum. rhe program, under the direction of Mr. William Thomas, is offered during school time to all eligible CHS students on their study periods, and has proven itself successful to those seeking their license. Both the student body and faculty have come to accept this course as an enjoyable as well as rewarding part of Cathedral's educational program. tw eo 1 Demonstrating proper engine care to new drivers is Mr. Thomas. 2 Junior Stephen Sugar- meyer looks on as Mr. Thomas explains differ- ent makes of antique cars. 3 Before actually driving, Liz Stiles demonstrates to the class who has the ‘right of way.”
