Seniors enact ‘Otello’ The Cathedral Opera Company presented “Otello” as the annual Senior performance. Michelle O’Malley, portraying Desdemona, and Warren Savage as Otello headed the cast. Fr. Richard Riendeau, assisted by Sr. Frances Cooke, directed the group’s presentation. Rehearsals for the opera began months before the actual staging. The cast reviewed the plot in English in order to portray appropriate facial expressions. Afterwards, the performers spent hours listening to the Italian lyrics to perfect synchronization of their lip movements. The players also had the opportunity to see a professional production of the opera. 2:
