Performers arouse spirit of team, fans Band members, drill team, and cheerleaders played a vital role in athletics at Cathedral. They spent the summer preparing for the approaching season and were ready for action in the fall. For the Thanksgiving game they performed a special half-time routing which consisted of a flag formed by the drill team, within an outline of the U.S. formed by the band. Sr. Beverly Rochford, physical education teacher, evolved the drill in cooperation with Mr. Dante Pilegi, band director. The chorale under the direction of Mrs. E. Janet Marsden, new member of the music department, participated in a concert at Christmas and in the musical Bye, Bye Birdie. Music at graduation is traditionally provided by the band and chorale.
