Sounds of the Sixties The decade of the 60’s was a period of change, not only in world affairs but also in the world of music. This sense of variation was reflected in Minstrel ’70. Songs ranged from old favorites to more contemporary sounds. Groups and specialty acts testified to the varied sounds of the sixties and helped make the minstrel a sellout. 4. 1 In his first solo appearance, Frank Wren performs his rendition of “Rolling Stones,” a song made popular by Bob Dylan. 2 Psychedelic jazz number, “Cold Seaat,’”” sets the pace for the 1970 Minstrel. 3 Giving the show a strong finale, Steve Rokowski, Pat Minney, Pete Skerritt, Maureen Lancaster, Mike Devine, and Mary Pat Burtt, compose the vocal portion of the Aquarius group. 4 With a carefree smile to match the mood of the song, Bob Hopkins sings the award-winning ‘Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head.” oe ; ¢ eed ; 83 ae

Babe Williams, played by Mike Devine filled the role of Maureen Lancaster, Prez, the union head. and Sid Sorokin portrayed by Rosemary Rogers Justin Nealon. portrayed a company secretary, Supporting characters included and members Mary Pat Burtt, as Gladys, of the chorale completed the cast. 2. 1 Finding himself in an unusual situation, Chuck if Berube refuses aid offered by Gladys, played by Mary Pat Burtt. 2 Supporting characters including George Landry, Paul Bombardier, Thomas Geurrandeho, and Paul Lamontagne, relax at Hernando’s Hideaway. 3 Caught in a contemplative mood Maureen Lancaster and Justin Nealon sing “There Once Was a Man.” 84
