Groups pictured here are only a few of the many clubs and organizations in which students are active. They range from horseback riding club, through drama, to math club. Among those not pictured are language clubs, FTA, and radio club. La Cofradia tutored Spanish younsters, and in November, the drama club presented Gazebo, its major production. Speech team captures 27 medals il In the first speech festival eliminations 29 out of 29 Cathedral contestants qualified for the second round, from which 17 gold and 10 silver medalists emerged. Winning gold medals were Marylynn Gironda, Roger Mercier, Terry Drapeau, Peggy Mahoney, Michelle O’Malley, Marijo Gaumond, Mary Conway, Peggy Martin, Katy Pooler, Frank Pokigo, Steve Goldthwaite, Jean LaRouche, Tracy Jenkins, Jim Harrigan, Nancy Nadeau, Susan Czochara and Carol Goudreau. Silver medalists were Doug Bourie, Mary Lise Rheault, Mary Dougal, Jeff Johnson, Kevin Malthais, Anne Santaniello, Charles Fitzhugh, Kathleen Cullen, “Lauretta Daley, and Sue Garvey.
