Trackmen capture city title The CHS trackmen completed an 11-0 season record by winning the city championship for the eleventh year in a row, placing fifth in Western Mass and winning the West Side Invitational. In the city championship, the team scored a record 105 points to capture the crown. Bill Dillon won the two-mile run in a new city and school record of 10:05, breaking the old record by 21 seconds. Ed Carey captured a double by winning both the high and low hurdles. In Western Mass competition Bill Dillon captured second place and Rick Bourie third in the two-mile run. Also placing in Western Mass were Ed Carey, third in low hurdles, and Ken Demers, fourth in the triple jump. Coach Paul Whitlock and co-captains James Cass and Brian Sullivan, led the CHS swim team to a very successful year. They practiced at Duggan Jr. High swimming pool, ending off with a 9-6 record. Numerous victories earned for the team second place in their division and a Western Mass berth.
