g We It is with deep gratitude that we dedicate our yearbook to our Blessed Lady under the title of the Assumption. ACTUAL WORDS OF DEFINITION The actual proclamation of the dogma of the Assumption took place in the following para- graph of the Apostolic Constitution named MUNIFICENTISSIMUS DEUS and read by Pius XII: After we have time and again offered supplication to God and have invoked the light of the Spirit of Truth, for the glory of Almighty God, who has lavished His special benevolence upon the Virgin Mary and for the honor of His Son, the Immortal King of the ages and the victor over sin and death, in order to increase the glory of His August Mother and for the joy and exultation of the entire Church, by the authority of Our Lord Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and by our own authority, we pronounce, declare, and define that it is a divinely re- vealed dogma that the Immaculate Mother of God, ever Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory.
