After the tongue-twisting introduc- tion of the Seniors, little sisters, placid faces abruptly transformed into astonished expressions as the Junior Class presented their comical satire on a popular T.V. game, The Price ls Right. The Price To Pay For A Freshman began with a run- ning start as strange looking contestants were called to, COME ON DOWN! and price various household items. A disheveled Mrs. Olson and a fascinated tourist were just two of the hilarious winners. Their grand prize was an exaggerated, musical portrayal of all four classes, as seen in the eyes of the Juniors. I . r T' 4' , , , y Qleewe fz.f4f..m l .T ,fi l fl A, -.il-. Never before have we sold out on tickets so quickly as that day. Many girls desperately hunted for extra tickets after they heard that the band, Pure Funk would play instead of the original band. And it was no wonder girls ran around like chickens without heads, and searched urgently for spare tickets. Pure Funk's brassy trumpets and rhythmic drums overflowed the cafetorium as couples danced to the music. my 1- fa! mx' , Ya. - '-A ff' I Love Music The theme I Love Music was enthusiastically expressed as Cathedral spon- sored its third dance of the year. Silhouettes of lively dancers decorated the wall as well as the dance floor, and music from the band, Elements of Soul echoed from the cafetorium. 56 A Lf.. N iff' xx A 3 58 xx Junior Tableau What could be more torturous than having to sing, The Twelve Days of Christmas all the way through? Give up? Having the Twelve Days of Christmas coming to life right in your own living room. Such a frightening nightmare was dramatized by the Junior Class. Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house were hidden surprises for an unsuspecting spouse. Surprises such as: six-geese-a-laying, eight-maids-a-milking, ten-lords-a-leaping, twelve- drummers drumming and of course a partridge-in-a-pear tree. And the poor, unsuspecting spouse was John Lannon, who now has become a loyal fan to Mr. Scrooge after his unbelievable Christmas experience. -1-ni WE V-fi i . A ' A-1: AA' A . fx fi ' iR,x 9 . The Juniors proudly shared their ceremonial mass and the blessing of the rings with the reminiscing Seniors and the watchful Freshmen and Sophomores. Their theme for the occasion was Drifting on a Memory and it was certainly a memorable occasion. After Communion, the Junior Class walked up to the front of the church and formed a semi-circle around the altar. Then, some of the teachers who had taught the Juniors approached the girls and placed their new rings on their fingers. This symbolic ritual added a heartwarming touch to the occasion. QQ! '- Q Q Q- Junior Retreat The Junior Class got ready early Saturday morning to leave for St. Helena's Retreat House in Napa Valley. The bus ride up was fun with music, talking and iokes. Once there, the Juniors were welcomed and then went into the first exercise which was on friendship. The remainder of the time was filled with many other exercises, free time and a mass late Saturday night. All too soon it was time to leave and the bus was waiting. The Juniors left St. Helena's Retreat House feeling closer and knowing themselves a little better. 11? L-.a lvf, 1:9- f xml' 1 l I J Y li Senior Retreat Seniors submerged into an underworld of intense exploration and startling discoveries and rose to a better under- standing and appreciation of themselves and others. Secluded and surrounded by grapefields and the dense woods of the Napa Valley, St. Helena's Retreat House buzzed with meaningful activities, such as: the trust walk, and conver- sations with each other about their most intimate feelings. However it was not all work and no play. Many girls took advantage of the warm Indian summer and the refreshing pool by sunbathing and swimming. Others exerted their energy in the recreation barn by playing pool, ping-pong, and shuffleboard. There was also an invigorating, free-for- all volleyball game with the girls and the staff. i . 1 1, '. 1 iv .. u wmv hr s , . 1' Q, , ' 'Q' X931 S5 .97 'QQ' Ns-af----2 ff-A-4' 64 Sophomore Retreat A retreat is a timely activity for any fifteen year old girl, this is what our Sophomores discovered as they participated in this unique experience at Mt.
