3' PEP CLUB The CATHEDRAL HIGH PEP CLUB turned out in good and bad weather to witness the football and basket- ball games. At Sherman Field, as well as the C. Y. 0. Hall, a cheer- ing crowd of Cathedralites was to be found whenever the Bluebirds playedo During football season, the Pep Club was led by Varsity Cheer- leaders--Shirley Jackson, Pat Mc- Kinney, and Kitty Clothier. During basketball season, our three reserve cheerleaders--Margie Henggeler,Mary J .Mapes and Mary Knorr led us at 1'i---....- 1.--1..-.L'l.-'l'l -.-...A- ---J V- Y'l - - -'I to lighten the chores of the Varsity cheerleaders. Jo Ellen Hakenkamp, our President, led us at Pep Rallys held during the basketball and foot- ball seasons, and found rides for all to our of town games. We climbed aboard buses and cars to go to the games that were away and faithfully attended all home games. We believe that something of a record has been set in attendance and the girls of next year will have to work hard to equal the record of this years Pep Club.- Novr as the end of this year approaches and we look back at the games, the rallys and the bus rides - and as we remember all the fun we've had, we wish the year were not' yet over.0ther Pep Clubs may be Bigger n' Better , but they will never: have the Spirit of M9-SO . CONFRHTERNITH' Catholics the world over have heard the call of each succeeding Vicar of Christ summoning them to rallyto the restoration of all things to Christ through active participation in Cath- olic Action. Catholic Action most commonly de- fined as the participation of laity in the apostolate of the hierarchy is the special vocation of the laity to assist their bishop in his Hercu- lean responsibility to teach all nations and convert the world to Christ. During this Holy Year, 1950, Our Holy Father has asked the faithful to mobilize a world-wide crusade a- gainst the attacks leveled against the Church. Our Bishop has pursued indefatigably the awakening of the souls entrusted top his care to their duty as soldiers of Christ to take an active part in the LayApostolate. At school Confraternity meetings opportunities have been given tore- port and participate in the mam' discussions on pertinent religious questions. Pg0
