A Message Brother Francis Haug S.M. My dear graduates, There is glory in being the last graduating class of Cathedral High School, and insofar as you individually have measured up to everything implied in your saying, ' This is Cath¬ edral,” there is individual glory for you. The saying will now change, but what the name, Cathedral,” has stood for in your minds should not change. That which is good at Cathedral High School, let it endure in AlthofT Catholic High School. Attach your loyalties to it. That which is good in your living, let it endure in life. And what is not good, let it die in death. Together we have come through four years, and together, each in his own way, we end an era. There would be little point in my detailing—as I could, you well understand — your failures to live up to the full measure of glory as true Crusaders. Rather, at this time of ending, let us together begin the future by holding fast to the core of our Christian formation at Cathedral High School. And that core is this, quite simply: Christ is our Redeemer and our Model. We go to Him through Mary. The family of Cathedral High School has been formed in the tender womb of the Blessed Mother. God, Who knows the nature of His children, chose to be born of the Woman, so that we are now her sons. It has been observed that you who regard her with sonlike confidence have a solidity and a frankness that grapple you to her Divine Son. May you ever be loyal to your Marian sonship: may you be other Christs. Sincerely in the Virgin, Brother Francis Haug, S.M.
