Cheerleaders, Mary Jo Mangold and Provi Tantillo, evince the ecstasy shown at particularly joyous moments. The Cathedral man spends much of his time diligentlystudying. This freshman is concentrat- ing on getting the correct answers to an English exercise. After his work is finishedfand unfortunately sometimes beforej, we sometimes see a student taking a short nap in order to be able to do the rest of his work. c 1 ,..,.W.......A- l J... all i Father Ralph Boehm, retreat- master for the annual Freshman- Sophomore retreat, gives a confer- ence on the virtue of charity to his eager audience of underclassmen. The retreat, held before the Christ- masvacation, was a great contribu- tion to the religious spirit of Cathed- ral enabled retreatants to start a new year with the proper outlook on re- ligion. Parking lot assemblies were found to be a great asset to the spirit of an upcoming game. Here students rally before a successful game against Crispus Attucks.

The dances after the basketball and football games, which are sponsored by the Student Council, draw a large crowd of boys and girls. This was a typical scene in the Cathedral parking lot during the sub-zero weather that stalled many cars in spite of all efforts to start them.
