Within these pages you will see yourself as others saw you in nineteen fifty-six and fifty-seven. We hope your individual portraits have found you at your best, that classroom shots will remind you of opportun- ities which you had for learning, that faculty pictures will remind you of a belief in a way of life which calls for Catholic schools, that honors could have been achieved by all, that part of the ioy of life is to be found in giving of yourself by participation in the activities Cathedral has to offer. If for a moment you enjoy some picture, a page, or some part of this book, then our objective has been achieved: to place in the untouchable file of your memory images which in a later year will once again be mirrored and then become, in truth, the FACULTY LATIN SCHOOL bliss of solitude. THE STUDENT COUNCIL, under the sponsorship ot Brother Francis Assisi, C.S.C., tor the scholastic year l956-57 has again undertaken to act as the contact between the student body and the school admin- istration. This year, however, marked a milestone in the history of the Student Council. Although the Stu- dent Council has been operating effectively in the school, it has not had a Constitution. The Constitution has now been completed. Other activities, such as ushering at school events, taking an active part in social and civic undertakings, are part and parcel ofthe Student Council. The Student Council is composed ot the Class Otticers ot each of the tour classes, in addition there are class representatives: tour for the Seniors, three tor the Juniors, two tor the Sophomores, and one for the Freshmen. An Executive Committee is composed ot tive elected members from the Student Council. It is their work to carry on the preparatory work betore presenting problems to the Council. This committee is composed ot James Crossen, Fritz Bloemker, Dan Gallagher, John Kirch, and John Hiatt. Members of the Student Coun- cil talk things over with the Principal, Brother Pedro, C.S.C.
