The Canticle of the Sun was written by St. Francis of Assisi, God's Troubadour, who was a man of joy. Lover of nature, friend of man and interested in all God's creatures, St. Francis is our patron by association since our teachers are his followers. His theme was love of God. His philosophy was poverty and penance. It is our hope that we have absorbed his teachings and that in our Cathedralite will be found some of his spirit of work, prayer and joy as exempli- hed in his great CANTICLE - the theme of our yearbook.
