Dem gfeued . . . we are ending an important phase in our quest for happiness as we leave our Alma Mater. We fully realize that we can achieve our goal best by reliance on the grace of your Son, distributed through your hands. Therefore, we beseech you, Mother Mary, to stay with uson our journey toward the Eternal Commencement. Like a true and loving Mother you have hovered near us since our first day at Cathedral, and we, like humble and loving children joyfully gather round your altar now to express our gratitude for your guidance. Our appreciation is contained in this our Annual which is filled with sacred memories. Our work and play, our suc- cesses and failures were consecrated to your immaculate Heart on our first day at Cathedral, and now as graduates we present them again to you who have so graciously shared them with us. Immaculate Queen of Heaven, we the Cathedral graduates beg you today, to accept this Annual, the story of our youth. Since we realize that our lifework lies ahead, we ask you, our Life, our Sweetness, and our Hope, to guide us in this quest for happiness. Lead us in this quest so that on the day of Eternal Commencement, we, the Cathedral graduates of nineteen forty-nine, will have the glorious privilege of entering the joys of eternal happiness with you, our Beloved Mother.
