He arrived in Springheldfor the 1932-33 school year andfor the next twenty-two years he helped to mold the thousands of young men who became his stu- dents. He was interested in the individual and was always some- one willing to help those who sought him out. Father Nolan was interested in intramural ath- letics and gave many hours ofhis time to such activities. For many ofhis years at Cathedral he also served as assistant supervisor of the Viatorian Community. Known apfectionately as Pops by the Viatorians, he was seen by many as the rock on which the community rested. In 1954, he was appointed as Scholastic Di- rector by the Viatorian Provincial and took charge ofthe Chicago housefor the brothers attending Loyola University. He also taught Church History to the students at the Viatorian Seminary in Evans- ton, Illinois. Father Nolan passed away on April 25, 1967. pg?
