Governor Thompson was graduation keynote speaker. The theme chosen for the anni- versary year was, A Tradition of Excellence. Academic excellence has always been the goal of the nearly 200 dedicated men and women who have served on the faculties of the two schools over the more than half century that has passed since the opening of those school doors in 1930. The present administration and fac- ulty are as committed as ever to carrying on the tradition that is being celebrated this year. With the help of God and the support of the Catholic community, the future of Griffin High School seems bright and secure, ready to educate the sons and grandsons of the men who proudly call them- selves graduates of Cathedral, graduates of Griffin.
