4 nigh n 5 6 E Annex Barraza, jim Cgblg first soccer coach. Father Heitjan's long term as principal of Griffin came to an end in 1974 and Father Wayne Dupuis was named as his succes- sor. Padre Canella and Mr. Al Macius returned to Griffin as the new school year began. Mr. Jim Coble, Mr. Dennis Smith and Mrs. Ethel Furlich were new faculty members at Griffin. Tennis made its appearance as an inter-school sport, soccer was introduced and the soccer team ended its season undefeated and as City Champs. The sophomore basketball squad also went unde- feated for their season, but the varsity posted a 10-I5 season rec- ord. The sophomore football team was also undefeated, and again the varsity suffered a losing season, 2-7. 1977 promised to be an interesting year for athletics. Griffin sjirsl soccer team was undefeated.
