Mw- SEPTEMBER . . . The time had come . . . we were entering our first year of high school as Freshmen . . . young tender babes about to be gobbled up by the mighty Seniors! OCTOBER . . . Initiation was just around the corner . . . terrihed at the outset, we emerged with a new feeling toward Seniors . . . they are human beings, after all. NOVEMBER . . . We chose our class colors . . . red and grey. We also elected our ofhcers . . . the very best. DECEMBER . . . We gave a Christmas party . . . with gifts . . . gifts that were truly for the Christ Child . . . because, instead of giving them to each other, we gave them to Christ's little ones . . . the orphans in Ti- juana. JANUARY . . . Semester Exams loomed before us . . . Algebra . . . Latin and the rest . . . we managed to pull through. OlflJ I'I,a FEBRUARY . . . Retreat brought recollection and silence . . . we doubted our ability to restrain our busy tongues . . . but the Seniors set a noble example. MARCH . . . We attended the noon-time Mass in the Cathedral . . . and lent our voices to the Holy Week and Easter services. APRIL . . . We held a surprise auction and were supported by every student at Cathe- dral . . . our success proved phenomenal. MAY . . . The Music Festival gave many of us a chance to show off our voices . . . and our pretty formals. JUNE . . . Soon we will have to bid farewell to our big sister Seniors, and we will be ready to start our second year toward the goal they have reached. We pray that we may be as loyal and true to Cathedral as they have been. cfm, ofa., Left to right: C. Cooper, B. Mangin, Krcjsa, and Baltes.

Mice- .MA for? Entering Cathedral forty-three strong and representing sixteen grammar schools, we were all impressed by the cheerful friendliness which the upperclassmen showed us during our first day at Cathedral. We still remember how our good friends, the Seniors, came out with the cry, Off with the lipstick, Froshl and how, on Initiation Day, they were most anniious to dress us up as clowns and tramps-one girl was a pumpkin! Following initiation, we had elections for class officers, with Mary Louise Paulich at the helm assisted by Ludevina Arciaga, vice presi- dent, Lorraine Nevcs, secretary, Carmen Jaco- belly, treasurer. With leaders chosen, we select- ed our class colors, red and grey, fashioned our emblem, and wrote our class song. At Christmas, our party was a tremendous success, entertainment being supplied by Mary .Io da Silva, Patricia Brame and Yolanda Escu- dero. During May, the highlight of our activities centered around participation in the Music Festival, a Cake Walk that we sponsored de- spite certain scattered showersf' and daily May devotions at the shrine erected in our room. May Our Lady ever continue to guide our steps through our coming years at Cathedral! Cfadzi O!kL'fZI':5 Left to right: L. Neves, C. Jacobelly, M. L. Paulich, L. Arciaga.
