Twentyfflive Years A native of Sacred Heart Parish, Ac- crington, England, Father james A. Rogers came to Cathedral and graduated in 1933. He was ordained from Immaculate Concep- tion Seminary in 1939 and was appointed to Cathedral's faculty in 1941. In addition to his academic and theo- logical studies, he has earned Master of Science degrees in both Education and Mathematics from St. John's University. Cathedral has indeed profited from Father Rogers' teaching in various fields, such as Mathematics, Religion, and for a brief time, even Latin, but even more per- haps by the example of an inquiring mind in avid pursuit of knowledge. His daily appli- cation to the acquisition of a wider and deeper grasp of new problems in both Sacred Scripture and Modern Mathematics has been an example that has not gone un- noticed by his students. Today his scholarly and priestly life engenders in all of us a desire to follow his exemplary dedication to learning and to truth. We beg God's blessing on Father Rogers as he celebrates a quarter of a cen- tury spent in the fulfillment of Christ's redeeming Sacrifice.
