Matonti in Brooklyn and by the High School Schola under the direction of Father james A. Kirrane in Queens. This group was formed in 1956 by Father Kirrane to facili- tate the preparation of the chant and to add to the beauty of the Mass. Two scholas alternate weekly in the singing of the Masses. The Schola is also called upon yearly to sing the various school Masses in churches throughout the Diocese and at the Holy Week Services at Saint james Pro-Cathedral.
