The Father Ryan Players The Fifth Year Dramatic Association was formed in 1929 by its di- rector, Father john E. Ryan. In 1930, its name was changed to the Saint Francis Players. The Players produced a play on the stage of the Academy of Music for the first time in 1935 with the performance of The First Legion. Through the years, the students under the capable guidance of their faculty directors have provided many enjoyable evenings of dramatic enter- tainment, thus carrying on a long and valuable tradition in Cathedral's extra- curricular life.
