l 4 if YT7 The Student Council The establishment of the Student Council in the College department in 1936 marked an innovation in the familiar type of Student Government at Cathedral. l Previously, the Student Committee, Whose officers were chosen from the senior class, directed and supervised the community exercises both of the College , l and High School Departments. The Council is composed of the class officers of the College whose purpose is to provide representative leadership for the student body, to assist the administra- tion in the maintenance of good order and to provide an opportunity for student initiative in achieving the ideals of college life.
