Iiam a thief, and this is the death 1 deserve. But this man the sofUicrs brought to hang with me and the other thief. They sa name is Jesus and that he has done no wrong, committe crime, caused no grief. 1 look down at Jesus; his body has been beaten badly; blood is flowing freely from his arms, legs and head. The see the soldiers spit upon him and curse his name, as t blacksmith drives the great nails deep into his hands. S afterward the wooden beams crcad and moan as they ra him, suspended in the air. ... The heavens mourn; the angels weep; the sins of the world he now keeps ... 'Hie other thief sfaas.inociiUigJbjffi ing. Save me if vou are the king!!' Jesus docs not say a word; his head is hung low his heart is ready to burst. Suddenly. I cry out.
