Vice President Class History We are very proud of our class because we have sixteen of the original members in the class. These members began together and stayed together from first throughout the twelve grades. These members are as follows: Ianet Shank, Dorthy Karnes, Car- oline Fisher, Margaret Wawroski, Vivian Kern, Mildred Rider, Ed- na Fetterman, lim Miller, Robert Bunge, Donald Schlieder, Mark Billig, Tom Berninger, Wayne Snyder, Paul Yocum, Harry Fenster- macher, and Robert Kostenbauder. The oldest member of our class is Lee Yeager who is twenty years of age falrnost old enough to vote.D The youngest, Mark Billig, also gives Tom Berninger, who is the tallest, some competi- tion. Tom Berninger is six feet one inch, and Mark Billig is six feet one-half inch. lim Miller is the shortest. The tallest girl is Shir- ley Cherrington, and Mary Drum is the smallest and also the thin- nest. Vivian Kern is the plumpest. We also have a giggler as most classes do, she is Caroline Fisher. Our class was most cooperative. We had a fine group of work- ers, especially in our junior year. Everything we did that year went very smoothly. Let us hope everything continues to run smoothly after we are graduated, and each has taken his path. Now instead of saying California Here We Come , We are say- ing World's Fair Here We Come. HIGH SCHOOL OUR CLASS BOOK, 1940 A Few School Activities In this school year the faculty made wise choices in securing for the students a group of interesting and educational speakers. Among these Were: Mr. Percy Berninger, a blind but Well talented artist, who enter- tained the entire school with his singing and reciting of Edgar A. Guest's poetry. Miss Coit, of State College, spoke on her travels in England and Europe. The Rev. H. I. Billow, gave a very inspiring and thought- provoking talk on the life of Frances Willard. Dr. Charles E. While we looked for some business from outside sources, we never expected the results. Our favorable location combined with a low overhead cost of doing business, must be reflected in our prices, therefor those living in near towns who live among furniture stores and are furniture wise are easily converted to the fact that it pays to drive to Catawissa and save real money. While it doesn't matter from what source business comes as long as We get it, we would be more than gratified to see a little more interest on the part of Catawissa residents who have never made a visit to our store, a store you should be proud of.
