o p E N H O U S E 6,000 A TTEND CVTI OPEN HOUSE An estimated 6,000 guests from six coun- ties served by Catawba Tech visited the ex- tensive facilities and all buildings on the campus east of Hickory. Visitors from Ca- tawba, Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Iredell, and Lincoln counties took the opportunity Sunday, October 31, 1971, to inspect the many changes since CVTI's last Open House in 1968. Visitors saw displays and exhibits created by the students and faculty members, each of which were typical of the activity in the particular areas. Sophisticated teaching materials and demonstrations were also in operation, and adult education and extension courses also had their day. Student Govern- ment members were stationed at all entrances and distributed facility maps to visitors for their convenience in finding classrooms or lab- oratories of special interest to them.
