STRATION securement of a good job which will provide you with a neat income. And having achieved these two objectives, you may today think that there is little more to be desired. It is not my purpose to minimize either of these goals, but it is my purpose, as you leave this college fellowship, to share with you life ' s real objectives as see them today from my vantage point. One ' s life, as I see it, becomes a successful, happy and worthy experience net by virtue of what one receives, be it a diploma or a job or just another lucky break. One ' s life is a success only in terms of what one gives, not in terms of what one gets. Service to others is the key to individual happiness, even as it is the key to the achievement of a just, orderly, and peaceful world. It seems to me but as yesterday that many of you arrived here as Freshmen. Naturally, from your point of view, however, your college residence no doubt takes on a quite different time factor. It may seem to you, for instance, that it has been years and years since you first walked into the Administration Building and presented your application for admission. It is precisely that difference in perspective of which I wish to remind you. even as you are now about to leave Catawba College. Again, from your present vantage point. no doubt, your college diploma today means most. Next, perhaps, you now covet the
