To our frieniTOR. LIAM GREENE we After many years of toil, hardship, and perseverance, Mr. Greene has emerged as a leader in world government. Even though Mr. Greene may be engrossed in overflowing work, any student may approach him and seek needed assistance. An understanding nature, combined with the attitude of aiding his fellowmen. has made Mr. Greene beloved by all who know him. Verification of the great amount of respect that the students hold for him may be found in the crowded classes which our friend instructs. With all these complimentary attributes, it is only fitting and proper that the 1950 Sayakini be dedicated to the friend of all people, Mr. George William Greene.

It seems to me but as yesterday that many of you arrived here as Freshmen. Naturally, from your point of view, however, your college residence no doubt takes on a quite different time factor. It may seem to you, for instance, that it has been years and years since you first walked into the Administration Building and presented your application for admission. It is precisely that difference in perspective of which I wish to remind you. even as you are now about to leave Catawba College. Again, from your present vantage point. no doubt, your college diploma today means most. Next, perhaps, you now covet the
