Included in the season ' s play were four North State Conference foes, and the results of those games were: Catawba 0— Elon 0. Catawba 38— W. C. T. C. 0. Catawba 26— Guilford 0. Catawba 0— Lenoir-Rhyne 0. Although the Indians were undefeated and unscored on by a conference team, they were forced to take second place. Elon, with its record of four victories and one tie, received the championship. The Redskins scored a total of 152 points to their opponents ' 40. The Davidson Wildcats were one of the two teams to score on Catawba, defeating the Indians 0-18. The other team was the Wofford Terriers, who were victorious to the count of 0-28. 7% , d £id L ,0 ... jg Kesler End Zammiello Guard Vaxiewsky Center Maggiolo Back One Hundred Six v y- -- Spelt $ Cesaeeo Back Reid Guard Bhauoht Guard FuLLERTON ' Back Catawba ' s goal line remained uncrossed until the seventh game of the season, when Johnny Maekorell, Little All- American Quarterback from Davidson, had his best day against the Indians. Kirkland ' s men were troubled with injuries throughout the latter part of the season, but the worst blow was sustained in the Presbyterian game, which resulted in a deadlock, when Ellis Red Meehan, high-scoring quarterback, received a broken arm that shelved him for the re- mainder of the season. ( Red won his C but his injury prevented his picture from appearing.) The results of the games not yet mentioned were: Catawba 6 — Erskine 0. Catawba 58 — Bridgewater 0. Catawba 24 — Newberry 0. Captain Joe Fullerton, out- standing in the attack, was high scorer with 179 points, Rocco Zammiello next with 104- points, and Tubby Garland third with 80 points. Above (upper left and center) are shown the Home Economics Building and one of the faculty apartment building in an uncompleted stage of construction. The snapshot at the upper right is of a student group at Old Catawba. The summer school of 1929 received an education while traveling cross continent to California in the buses pictured at the lower left. And a baseball game was in progress when the view (lower right) of the field, crowd, and one building of the college at Newton was taken. The superlatives on the following pages are looking at original photographs of Catawba at its former location. The picture on the next page is of the main building at Newton. The girls ' dormitory is shown on page one hundred nineteen. The other scenes on all four pages are of interiors.
