The old bus, as it rolls along, Seems prone to give us thrills ; One moment we in glory sit, The next the floor we fill. It bears a sign for all to see, This bus with its one-man crew, In letters big and blue and white, Catawba, our college true. It makes its trips all through the day, Straight to the city square, Where some get off and some get on, While the driver takes the fare. The nicest part about the bus When you ' re footing it to town, And there ' s not a single car in sight, Is to spy it coming down. There ' s credit due to the poor old bus, Though it has its many faults, For it never fails to bring the mail From our mothers and sweethearts. A. M. H. Page Twenty-eight

' Round our hearts the dearest memories Of our school days cling; Though we wander distant from thee, We can ne ' er forget, Thou hast cared for us, Catawba, Great to thee our debt! Oh, Catawba, Alma Mater, Soon from thee we part, But the lessons thou hast taught us Linger in our heart.
